Calcarea chlorinata (Calc-chln)

Chlorinated Lime. CaOCl2. Hypochlorate of lime with Chloride of Calcium and a varying amount of Hydrate of Lime.

Clinical: Boils. Carbuncles.

Characteristics: This preparation has only been used as a local application, for boils and carbuncles chiefly, in the form of the Liquor Calcis Chloratae of the British Pharmacopoeia.
